Teens today face unimaginable dangers: drugs and addiction, teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections, running away and sex trafficking, depression and suicide. Many feel like they have nowhere to go and no one they can trust. They build walls around themselves to hide their confusion and fear, because they worry about what others will think about them.
The Special Angel Project uses the power of music to break down those walls and speak words of hope and encouragement. As we tell the kids: “It’s never too late to be what you might have been.” Kids in crisis are desperate for someone who will listen, affirm, encourage them to get the help they need.
Music is the key that the Special Angel Project uses to unlock hearts closed by unimaginable wounds. It builds trust and a safe environment where kids can open up about the challenges they face. They have so much to say if only we LISTEN. That gives us the opportunity to speak hope and life in a way that they can hear it.
