Young people today are filled with turmoil. They don’t understand the chaos inside them, so they find their lives spiraling out of control. Special Angel helps young people find their voice, express themselves, and take a journey of self-discovery.
Creativity opens the door for connection. The Special Angel Project brings creative expression into schools, shelters, probation camps and youth programs, then does the one thing the kids never expect: we listen.

Teens don’t listen to lectures. They listen to music. Singing about real-life issues lets us talk about high-risk choices without preaching — and because we’re honest about our own lives, the kids are honest about theirs.
It started at a kitchen table: a mother and daughter who could only really talk to each other through the songs they were writing. That’s still what happens in every room we walk into. Counselors are repeatedly amazed at how openly kids talk with us — and how much more receptive they are to their own programs afterward.
Our musicians are professionals who have played big rooms and small ones. They stay with us for years for one reason: they’ve seen what happens when the music starts. And in the silence afterwards.
